PUBG Healing Items Guide

The 75 cap

Bandages and First Aid Kits cannot heal past 75 health.

Only full heal

The Med Kit is the sole item that restores 100 instantly.

Boosts fill the gap

Painkillers and drinks are how you reach 100.

Healing in PUBG has one rule that catches new players out: most of your medical items stop working at 75 health. Bandages and First Aid Kits will not take you past that line, so the last quarter of your health bar has to come from boost items. Understanding which item to use, and how long each one leaves you standing still, matters more than carrying a lot of them.

The Healing Items and What They Actually Do

Bandages heal 10 over time and can be used while moving, including in a vehicle, which makes them the only option during a rotation. They now repeat automatically until you reach 75 or run out. A First Aid Kit jumps you straight to 75 in six seconds. A Med Kit is the only item that restores health to 100 instantly, and it is mostly found in air drops rather than as floor loot.

Boost Items Are How You Reach 100

Boosts fill a separate bar that regenerates health over time and, at higher levels, increases movement speed. An Energy Drink adds 40 boost and restores roughly 23 health across about two minutes. A Painkiller adds 60 and restores roughly 40 health over about three minutes. An Adrenaline Syringe fills the bar completely, regenerating around 86% of health over roughly five minutes plus a 6.2% speed increase — the strongest recovery in the game, and rare for that reason.

Boost Levels and Regeneration Rates

The boost bar has four steps and each one heals faster than the last: Level 1 restores 1 health every 8 seconds, Level 2 restores 2, Level 3 restores 3 and adds 2.5% movement speed, and Level 4 restores 4 every 8 seconds with a 5% speed increase. Keeping the bar in the upper half is a quiet advantage across a whole match — you arrive at fights topped up and move slightly faster between them.

Timing Beats Quantity

Cast times are what get players killed, not item choice. A Med Kit leaves you stationary for eight seconds; in an active fight that is a very long time. The habit worth building is healing in layers: bandages or a drink while moving between positions, the big items only behind real cover once the fight has actually broken. If you are being pushed, repositioning first and healing second almost always beats the reverse.

What to Carry

A workable default is a few bandages for movement healing, two or three First Aid Kits for post-fight resets, whatever boosts you find, and a Med Kit saved for the late circles. Boosts are worth more than most players think because they close the gap between 75 and 100 that nothing else can, and they cost very little inventory space compared with a Med Kit at 20.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can I not heal above 75 health in PUBG?

Bandages and First Aid Kits are capped at 75 by design — the in-game description states they cannot be used when health is above 75. To go higher you need a Med Kit, which heals to 100 instantly, or boost items, which regenerate health over time past the cap.

How much health does a Painkiller restore?

A Painkiller adds 60 to the boost bar and restores roughly 40 health over about three minutes. An Energy Drink adds 40 boost for roughly 23 health over about two minutes, and an Adrenaline Syringe fills the bar for around 86% health regeneration over roughly five minutes.

Can you heal while moving in PUBG?

Yes. Healing and boost items can be used while moving, though you are limited to walking speed. Bandages also work inside a moving vehicle, although rough terrain will often cancel the animation.

Is a Med Kit worth the inventory space?

Usually one is. It takes 20 inventory space and eight seconds to use, which is expensive, but it is the only item that restores health to 100 instantly. Carry one for the late circles rather than several.
