PUBG Vehicles Guide
Squad default
UAZ and Dacia carry four and take punishment.
Solo default
Motorcycle and Scooter for speed over safety.
Rule
Never park at the building you intend to hold.
A vehicle in PUBG is a rotation tool that costs you silence. On the 8x8 km maps you rarely have a choice, so the question is not whether to drive but how to drive without handing away your position. Vehicle choice matters less than most players think; how and where you stop matters far more.
What Is Actually Available
PUBG has land, water and air options, though the practical list on any given map is short. Four-seat vehicles like the UAZ, Dacia 1300 and Pickup are the squad standard. The Buggy, Mirado, Rony and Porter fill similar roles with different handling and durability. Motorcycles, the Scooter and the Quad are fast and fragile, and suit solo players who value time over protection. Boats such as the PG-117 and Aquarail matter on water-heavy maps like Erangel and Miramar, while the Motor Glider is the only practical air option where it spawns.
| Type | Examples | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Four-seat land | UAZ, Dacia 1300, Pickup, Porter | Squad rotations and soaking damage |
| Light land | Buggy, Mirado, Rony, Quad | Two-player moves and rough ground |
| Two-wheel | Motorcycle, Scooter, Dirt Bike, Mountain Bike | Solo speed, very little protection |
| Snow | Snowbike, Snowmobile | Vikendi terrain |
| Water | PG-117, Aquarail, Airboat, Jet Ski | Island crossings on Erangel and Miramar |
| Air | Motor Glider | Long rotations where it spawns |
Match the Vehicle to the Map Size
On Erangel, Miramar, Taego and Deston at 8x8 km, a vehicle is effectively mandatory for a mid-game rotation — the distances are simply too long to walk. On 6x6 km Vikendi it helps but is not essential. On 3x3 km Paramo or 2x2 km Karakin, driving usually costs more in noise than it saves in time, and a short careful walk is often the better move.
Durability Is Cover, Until It Is Not
A car absorbs a lot of damage before it stops, which makes it a mobile wall for crossing open ground. The failure mode is staying in it too long. Once the engine is taking sustained fire you are inside a target that everyone can see, and vehicles catch fire and explode. The rule of thumb: use the vehicle to reach cover, not as the cover itself.
The Noise Problem
Every engine announces you. This is the main cost of driving and the reason most vehicle deaths are not caused by the shots that hit the car — they are caused by squads who heard it coming and prepared. Three habits fix nearly all of it: stop short of the circle and walk the last stretch, park where the vehicle is not visible from your position, and turn the engine off rather than idling.
Fuel and Damage
Vehicles run out of fuel and can be repaired. A Gas Can restores fuel and a Vehicle Repair Kit fixes damage, but both take inventory space and time to use, so they are worth carrying mainly on large maps where being stranded is genuinely fatal. Checking the fuel gauge before a long rotation takes a second and prevents the worst version of this problem.
Solo Versus Squad Choices
In squads the four-seat vehicles are correct almost always, because splitting the team across two bikes turns one rotation into two separate fights. Solo is the opposite: a motorcycle gets you across a map faster than anything else and you have nobody to lose. Accept that it protects you from nothing and plan the route with more cover than you would in a car.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best vehicle in PUBG?
For squads, a four-seat vehicle such as the UAZ or Dacia 1300, because it keeps the team together and absorbs a lot of damage. For solo players, a motorcycle is the fastest way across a large map, at the cost of almost no protection.
Do I need a vehicle on every map?
No. On the 8x8 km maps like Erangel, Miramar, Taego and Deston a vehicle is close to mandatory for mid-game rotations. On 3x3 km Paramo or 2x2 km Karakin the noise usually costs more than the time saved.
Is it safe to fight from inside a vehicle?
Only briefly. A vehicle absorbs damage well and works as a moving wall for crossing open ground, but it is visible, loud, and explodes when destroyed. Use it to reach cover rather than treating it as cover.
Where should I park?
Never at the building you intend to hold. Stop short, park out of sight, switch the engine off and walk the last stretch. A car at the front door tells every nearby squad exactly which building to watch.
